Lee and Collier County St. Patrick’s Day Fun
St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and the 35th annual Naples St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off in just a couple days on Saturday March 15 in Downtown Naples.
But in case you’re not able to make it or if you just want to start celebrating early, here are some other family-friendly Irish events, from the Naples Daily News, to choose from:
Friday March 14
From 5 to 8 p.m., the Village on Venetian Bay, 4200 Gulf Shore Blvd., will host a St. Patty’s Day Celebration to get you feeling green. Watch the Tir Na Nog Dance Studio perform an Irish jig and enjoy the beautiful waterfront location.
Saturday March 15
The 35th annual Naples St. Patrick’s Day Parade will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with a flag-raising ceremony at Crayton Cove. The parade starts at 11 a.m. at Third Street South at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, heading north to Fifth Avenue South, turning east and ending at The Chapel Grill, 811 Seventh Ave. S., in Naples.
After the parade, head over to the Ritz-Carlton Beach Resort, 280 Vanderbilt Beach Road, in Naples for a unique live auction to benefit the Catholic Charities of Collier County at 6 p.m. The event features a seven-night voyage for two abroad The World, a privately owned residential mega yacht. Monday March 17
If you’re not in the spirit by now, you’re going to get pinched! Better throw on something green.
From 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., enjoy the Fishermen’s Village Celebration at 1200 West Retta Esplanade. At 11:30 a.m., Four Leaf Strummers Banjo Group kick off the music for the day; At 5:30 p.m., the Lee County Pipes & Drums will parade through the Punta Gorda Village; At 6 p.m., Celtic Beat Irish Dances will begin; and the Emily Ann Thompson Band will play until 9 p.m.
Enjoy live music, a costume contest, Irish food and drink, fun park, nature park and pony and camel rides at the Shell Factory & Nature Park, 2787 U.S. 41 N., in Fort Myers from 2-7 p.m. For more information, please call 239-995-2141.
The St. Patrick’s Day Super Bash, benefiting the CERT team goes from 1-10 p.m. with music from Dave Collaton from 1-3 p.m.; The Dweebs from 4-7 p.m.; Left of Center from 7-10 p.m. and lunch, dinner and snacks in between at Nervous Nellies, 1131 1st St., in Fort Myers Beach.
If you’re in Fort Myers, check out St. Patrick’s Day Downtown at 6 p.m. with live Irish music, multiple stages, corned beef and cabbage, green beer and a kid’s zone. The event is free. For more information, check out www.riverdistrictevents.com.
And at 6:30 p.m., head over to the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner, hosted by international journalist, publicist and speaker, Maire Peters, with authentic Irish cabbage, colcannon, coddle with cabbage, Irish stew and Irish coffee along with a talk on Irish history, surnames and place names.
